Bonnie and I were married in 1978. This year we will be celebrating our 33rd wedding anniversary. Wow, time sure does fly! We have 3 beautiful children and a son-in-law and daughter-in-law. Janice is a third grade school teacher in a public school and married to Michael who is a fourth grade teacher in the same school. They have a son, Ethan. Janice is also our K.I.D.S. Church Pastor, Michael is part of our Praise and Worship and assists Janice in K.I.D.S. Church. Jonathan is an architect/builder and married to Julie who is a sixth grade teacher in a public school. They have a son, Liam. Jonathan is also our praise and worship leader. Julie also is very active in many areas in the church, she also works with the children's programs. Amy is the manager of our Subway Restaurant in Genesee, Michigan. She also sings on the praise and worship team, and works also in many different programs we have through out the year. We are very proud of them all. We are a well-established church, 28 years, this year. Thank you Lord.
In May of 1983, we felt the Lord speak to us concerning our ministry. We had been active in a church for many years, holding various positions, but time had come for a change. We were obedient to the call and pioneered a brand new work called Beulah Land (meaning a place of rest and peace). On December 4, 1983 a new church was birthed in the city of Burton, Michigan. The new work was a total act of faith. We began renting a church building that had been up for sale for several months. We had two years to come up with enough money for the down payment, so we could purchase the property. Within 9 months, God had blessed us with enough money and we were able to purchase much sooner than expected. Within four and half years we were debt free and seen God faithful to His Word, with miracle after miracle.
We began praying for property to build a new ministry headquarters for our location at that time was getting much to small to meet the needs of a growing church . In January 1999, God came through again and 8 acres was donated to us for our ministry. The land was centrally located in the growing area of our community. We in turn purchased 1 acre of property that gave us access to the 8 acres and we immediately began planning to build. Our first phase of building is a 14,000 square foot Family Life & Youth Center. The building has a full silze college gym, running/walking track commercial kitchen, restrooms with showers, and other rooms that will become a weight room, aerobics room and a dining and conference room, as well as offices and a staging area. Along with the building, there will be an outdoor play area, with softball fields and children's playscape area. There is nothing like this in our community and it will be a great asset. We underrstand the worth of our future, is what we invest in today. We have also built a building which will be soon a tech school to teach the youth free of charge, various trades, from home building and repair to landscaping to auto mechanice, etc., teaching them to work with their hands and use the gifts that God has given them.
We want to mentor the fatherless, motherless, abused and rejected, helping them before it is too late. We will be setting up mentor programs to help kids that are having trouble in school work and those that don't qualify for their school sports programs. We will also be imparting faith principles and a standard of excellence in their lives.
Let's work together to change our world, one life at a time.
